Making Willpower not as terrible at Tanking on Tankers/Brutes without changing any of it's mechanics. Rather than change WP's Taunt Aura, the wrote Aggro2 into existence. Basically, in tests, almost anything could completely rip aggro from a Tanker/Brute using Willpower and spamming Taunt as much as possible. I don't really want to be the one to tell this, since I don't want you to think your character is shit, but, Aggro2 replaced Aggro System because of how shit Willpower's Taunt Aura is. So why do you need to take Taunt, beyond just AOE Taunting when have Foot Stomp and high ST Damage under Aggro2? So if your Brute and a WP/SS Tanker were both punching an AV, you'd be the one Taunting and having aggro due to Fury increasing Damage output if you're both at equal distance. Tankers are AOE while Brutes is Single Target. Tankers and Brutes both have the highest Threat Level - 4.īoth our Taunt powers are Auto-Hit in PvE.Įvery attack we both make also provides a built-in Autohit Taunt. The status effect does something to the target priority list created by Aggro2's numbers of Damage and Distance of everyone attacking a mob.

Looking into diving into the game's source code at some point to absolutely confirm that, but we know Aggro2 is the current system - That Threat/Hate is no longer used and Castle's formula (That was incomplete anyway) posted on the original forums is no longer the case.

Sadly for you, but great for us Tankers, Taunt is a Status Effect that is still Taunt Duration * Threat Level. If that was all there was too it you could just out-punch a Tanker once you have some Fury behind you and always have aggro under Aggro2.

This is actually really good for you, Brute's damage cap is way higher than tanks.

If you had 2 Blasters with identical builds doing the same attack at the same target but at different distances, the closer one will always be the one to get aggro. If you want to tank on your Brute for teams - especially teams without a maxed out Tanker, then I'm going to be honest and say you need it (with an explanation too).Īggro2, the replacement to Aggro System and what the game uses for aggro for a long time, is essentially taking the Damage you deal, and your Proximity to the target you're damaging. If you want to do Brute stuff and be a Brute, then you seriously don't need it.
